{"id":12407,"date":"2012-11-07T07:30:34","date_gmt":"2012-11-07T07:30:34","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.atidi.africa\/edc-and-ati-partner-to-boost-african-canadian-trade\/"},"modified":"2012-11-07T07:30:34","modified_gmt":"2012-11-07T07:30:34","slug":"edc-and-ati-partner-to-boost-african-canadian-trade","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.atidi.africa\/ja\/edc-and-ati-partner-to-boost-african-canadian-trade\/","title":{"rendered":"EDC and ATI partner to boost African-Canadian trade"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>7th November 2012<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>(OTTAWA\/NAIROBI) \u2013 29, November\u00a02012 \u2013<\/strong> The African Trade Insurance Agency (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ati-aca.org\/ati-launches-operations-in-ghana-presence-expected-to-boost-industrialization-and-debt-sustainability-efforts\/\">ATI<\/a>) and Export Development Canada (EDC) today announced an agreement to work together more closely in the future towards creating new trade opportunities between Canada and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ati-aca.org\/ati-launches-operations-in-ghana-presence-expected-to-boost-industrialization-and-debt-sustainability-efforts\/\">ATI<\/a> member states.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"img-responsive alignleft wp-image-952 size-medium\" src=\"http:\/\/www.ati-aca.org\/\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/11\/canadian-flag-in-300x240.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"240\" \/>The Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) aims to provide financial products and services to facilitate trade and foreign direct investment between Africa and Canada. \u201cOne of the key advantages that ATI offers to international partners and clients is on-the-ground expertise in African risk mitigation. In the process of providing valuable information to a network of global partners ATI has also been able to increase insurance capacity within Africa. The partnership with EDC enables ATI to continue this positive growth trajectory within Africa,\u201d notes <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ati-aca.org\/jef-vincent-atis-chief-underwriting-officer-retires\/\">Jef Vincent<\/a>, Chief Underwriting Officer, ATI.<\/p>\n<p>ATI\u2019s preferential position and knowledge in some of the more challenging African markets makes them a partner of choice for EDC in transactions involving both private and sovereign risk,\u201d said Patricia Bentolila, Chief Representative, Africa, EDC.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAfrica holds many markets whose significant potential matches up very well with Canadian expertise that can help African companies and economies execute upon that potential.
